The Turning Point Extended Care Program provides a highly structured environment for individuals determined to overcome their alcohol or drug addiction. Set in a residential home–like setting in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of New Haven Connecticut, the program is designed to help men repair and subsequently manage their lives.
our mission is a difficult one: we take men who have been unable to manage their lives and teach them responsibility through accountability.
To achieve this we address the alcohol and drug addiction intensively, while simultaneously teaching basic life management skills. We use a combination of addiction therapy, intense psychotherapy, spiritual awareness, meditation, nutritional and physical education, basic life coaching skills, family counseling and a strong dose of accountability.
As a result, residents graduate from the program with a firm foundation in recovery – owning their drug addiction and the behaviors and consequences that come along with it.
What sets our program apart? We don’t graduate residents until they are going to sleep and waking up on their own, preparing and eating three healthy meals a day, attending to their physical and mental health, have a 12–step sponsor and are actively working the steps, are gainfully employed or enrolled in college, maturely managing relationships, and demonstrating to themselves, their family and to us that they can independently sustain these behaviors over a period of time.
If you or your loved one have been to multiple alcohol or drug rehabilitation treatment programs, detox, and/or intensive outpatient programs (IOP) but have been unable to remain sober and effectively manage your life in the real world through traditional addiction treatment, please call us today.
“When I came to Turning Point, I was told that my recovery was in my hands; I had the power to make the choices that would dictate my future. Here I am today, happier and stronger than I’ve ever imagined. My family and I cannot thank you enough.”
John, Ridgefield, CT
Residential participation for less than 90 days is of limited effectiveness, recent clinical studies have shown that a 90 day rehabilitation program is most effective and a program lasting significantly longer is recommended for maintaining positive outcomes.
